GET INVOLVED
This section was developed to encourage everyone to become involved in the WACC led Three Weeks of Action on Gender and the Media. We would welcome activists using any of the information or material below that can be of help in any subsequent campaigning activities.
Ways to get involved:
1. Take action
There are many actors defending and monitoring the representation and portrayal of women and men in news on television, radio and in newspaper. WACC invites you to take action by supporting these organisations in many different ways as well as specific actions led by the “Who makes the news?” Three Weeks of Global Action on Gender and Media Campaign. Get more information about what we do.
2. Use the Toolkits
The “Who Makes the News?” Toolkits and Take Action Pack (in English, Español, and Français) were created to encourage and support media and or/gender activists. Use these tools to improve the activities in your organizations and get involved in the different workshops and other activities that this website presents.
3. Join us online
Keep informed with updates and new resources on this website and information about the Global Media Monitoring Project, you can register to the Whomakesthenews Info List or sending an email to whomakesthenews-subscribe@gn.apc.org.
4. Share your opinion in the GMMP Blogs and Polls
The Three Weeks of Action on Gender and the Mediablogs and polls 2006 are now closed, however they are accessible as “read-only” and we hope will give you added flavour on the activities that were taking place during the first ever global media justice campaign
